University Raisers
New Horizons Service Dogs, Inc. has recently partnered with Stetson University in DeLand, FL and Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL.
Beginning in 2011, Stetson University has granted the students studying and living on their campus to be Puppy-Raisers. Puppies will be placed at 8 weeks old with two students that will share the responsibility of training and socializing the puppy until it is between 18 and 22 months old.
In 2011, Palm Beach Atlantic University students will participate in our Weekend Raising program. The students will work with our Prison Pups on the weekends for additional socialization, practice of their commands, and to give our dogs in training a mini-vacation.
